If you ordered an elementary school yearbook or a Spring Picture Package, you can pick it up tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19 between 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Unless it is raining or windy, Mrs. Ball and I will be stationed at a table near the elementary school gate. You can stop at the curb, give me your child's name and grade, and we will hand your yearbook and/or pictures to you through the vehicle window. Then you can pull forward to the grab-n-go lunch table.
Trona School District understands the hardships that social distancing can be on our students. We wanted to come up with a fun way to still keep in touch while we are demonstrating social distancing to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. Below is a list of Spirit Days that our students and staff can participate in. Two quick announcemnts Beginning Monday, May 18, school lunches will be served between 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. The Food Commodities will be distributed Friday, May 15th from 8:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M. at the Trona Senior Center.

Dear Trona School District Families: At this time there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in San Bernardino County and Kern County. We are following guidance provided by the California Department of Education, California Department of Public Health and local public health officials. We have decided to cancel/postpone all upcoming events up until April 13th. These events include sporting events, banquets, field trips, pep rallies, club activities, staff conferences, and any other school related events. These policies will be effective immediately. We will align our actions with Kern County Health Department, Sierra Sands Unified School District, and upper desert Districts of San Bernardino County. The District will be preparing to deliver education to our students at home in the event of a closure if this becomes necessary. Today the Governor’s office will be releasing further information and as this develops we will continue to update our District. We will provide information regarding this situation as it becomes available and do our best to update everyone weekly. The following additional events are postponed/modified: Elementary: Parent/Teacher Conferences will now be held over the phone March 23-27. Your child will bring home a packet with any evaluation/test, anything pertinent to your child's academic progress. You will be able to view this packet while speaking to his/her teacher. The Awards Assembly on March 31st will include only students and staff. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However, we still want to recognize your child's academic success. High School: SARB Meeting scheduled for March 19th will still continue, but will now take place by telephone. If you have received a letter to attend SARB on March 19th, please make sure the school has an updated phone number before March 19th. MORP Dance scheduled for March 27th is canceled. The basketball and cheer banquet scheduled for March 20th is postponed. District The ALICE Parent meeting that was scheduled for March 26th will be canceled and rescheduled at a later date. Students will continue to do the monthly drills. The Alice evacuation drill that was scheduled for April 3rd will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date.
Hello Parents and Guardians of Trona Elementary. We are excited about the start of school. Attached you will find the new school map detailing student drop off for the Elementary School and the school entrance. Please remember the elementary students need to be dropped off at 7:30 AM and not before. The reason for this is because we want the Elementary students to arrive when the High School students start their classes at 7:30 AM. Staff will have assigned areas, for example, the sidewalks to guide the students safely to the Elementary entrance. We hope that this will avoid any possible interactions. Please be aware that on Tuesday we will be going over the earthquake procedures and having an earthquake drill on Wednesday at 10 o’clock. In addition, we will also have crisis counselors here at the school for any students that may need them (trauma from the earthquake). Wednesday, September 4thwe will be having “Back to School Night” from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Please arrive on time. We will be having you on a bell schedule. A flyer will be going out on Tuesday. Who has some ideas that will help make our campus look more appealing? Ms. Kimber is starting a campus “Beautification Club” that will be doing projects around campus like painting rocks, murals, gardening etc. The club will be meeting in A4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during lunch. There will be a sign-up sheet in the office for those who are interested. The first meeting will be next Tuesday.

Bus time changes for TK and Preschool students ONLY Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 the kindergarten students will be staying all day. TK students will remain on the same 11:15 dismissal time. Due to this change, the bus drop off times will be earlier than normal. Thank you for your patient with this change. The first couple weeks will be an adjustment.

Student Council is selling Boo Grams in room B3 during 9:00 recess and lunch recess. The cost is .50 per gram. Students may send them to other students and staff at both the elementary and high school. Parents are welcome to come to the office and send them to students.
